Festival Grounds St. Mary’s City is one of the most historic sites in the United States and one of the best preserved founding sites of a 17 th century English Colony. The fourth permanent British settlement in North America was Maryland’s first capital and the birthplace of religious toleration. The city is an exciting mix of colorful living history and fascinating archeology, all set in a beautiful tidewater landscape. For further information about St. Mary’s City, please see the Saint Mary’s City website at:http://www.stmaryscity.org/History.html
Artists Janie Meneely, William Pint and Felicia Dale and the Ship’s company performed nautical tunes in period costume. Of particular interest is a song called “Point Lookout”, a haunting ode to our favorite lighthouse, Point Lookout Light! See Janie’s website: http://www.janiemeneely.com/ for biographical information and upcoming performances.
