March 21, 2009 The first cleanup day of the 2009 season was a resounding success! The slowing economy has reduced the number of PLLPS volunteers, however, everyone chipped in and really gave it their all. We cleaned the interior of the lighthouse in preparation for the April Open House; floors were swept and mopped, and windows were washed. Chuck and Robert remove a trip hazard from the lighthouse Volunteer Sandra Sableski sweeps the floor to make the lighthouse a little bit nicer for the first open house Sandra mops the floor Volunteer Candace Mylcarzyk helps to clean up the floors Candace cleans the lantern room. This would have been a daily routine task when the lighthouse was an active aide to navigation Photos by Sandra Sableski and Tom Fouchet |
