Directions to the Lighthouse†

Public access to the lighthouse is restricted, except for the events listed on our schedule of events page.† Public access is permitted during monthly open house events, which†are typically held the first Saturday of each month, from April through November, from 10 am until 2 pm.

The lighthouse is located in a Maryland State Park that charges an entrance fee, which varies throughout the year. No additional fees are charged to enter the lighthouse, however, donations are appreciated and will be used exclusively for the benefit of the Point Lookout Lighthouse Complex.

Directions from Baltimore:

From Rt. 695, follow Rt. 97 south to Rt. 3 south (Rt. 3 will become Rt. 301). Continue on Rt. 301 south into Upper Marlboro. Take Rt. 4 south and continue across the Solomons Island Bridge. At the first traffic light turn left onto Rt. 235 south. Follow Rt. 235 south to the blinking red light at the intersection with Rt. 5. Turn left onto Rt. 5 south and follow approximately 7 miles to Point Lookout State Park. After the park entrance, follow the road to landís end and the lighthouse.



Directions from the Rt. 301 Bridge:

Follow Rt. 301 north to Rt. 234 toward Leonardtown. When you reach the end of Rt.
234 at Rt. 5 turn right. Follow Rt. 5 south to Point Lookout State Park. After the park
entrance, follow the road to landís end and the lighthouse.
